We are a registered, non-profit group of bullie loving owners, rescuers, fans, trainers, fosters, food givers and kiss sponges, who are working hard to give pit bulls the fair chance they deserve. We specialize in placing American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers, collectively known to most as pit bulls!

We actively work for those dogs already in shelters and rescues, helping bring great homes together with great dogs. We also do public education, limited foster care and assist new rescue pit bull owners with guidance and support.

Big Heart Rescue works within the Province of British Columbia with a special focus on Bella Bella, a small First Nations Reserve off the coast of BC. We refer to our work in that region as Spirits Mission.

The Big Heart Rescue Society was formally organized as a non-profit charity (Canada Revenue Agency charity number: 877348508RR0001) in Aug. 2002 and since this time many, many companion animals have been vaccinated, sterilized, vetted, fostered and adopted.

We are funded 100 percent by generous donations from community members and supporters with all proceeds going directly to the care and rehabilitation of companions in need of medical intervention, training and re-homing.
